This is pasta point atKanuhura Male atoll.....a surfers dreamspot of a place...easy access..great surf.a place I worked for seven years as a surf guide .This is my second oil painting .I did this while sojourn at Nellaidhoo ...where my mum and family lives.the surfer is placed by using a model.

while sojourn at kfushi i did some studies on colours and doing from real life..and flowers are a favourite for most people and brings happiness too.

I dont know why this face or who this face is .its a face of a model that i used as my subject for skin colour beauty and feeling.The baground is a beach front impression of the maldive colour. water color on drawing block.25 x35 cm.

raining on tin roofs 2004

I did this one at Thulusdhoo .Rented a room and took time for a month to devote myself to painting and surfing at Colas.I stayed in this room under a tin roof looking outside at a home across a road.There was a week of constant on and on raining on these tin roofs............the sound of which is music to my ears............................... water colour .

This is not my first painting..but i regard this as my first serious painting after learning some of the technics of water colour.Its done on ordinary drawing block paper and cheap water colour.The year is 1996.

Buruzu

I did this painting in 1999 from an old black and white photo taken by Ali Najeeb.Its done in acrylic on paper.Its the harbour scene of Male in the 50s.The wall is that of Aa Koahtte Buruzu with the cannon ports .The mortered boat was called Hysinth ...the one and only.The two masted sailing ship called Baththeli was commonly used for cargo and passengers then.

Tsunami day

I was working on board a big game fishing boat at One and Only Kanuhura.....then.
It was a beautiful morning and as usual i started the day at 5:30 on the staff end of the island where there is a long and large beach.,doing yoga with two other staff.
We dint feel a thing around 6:30 when the earth quake hit ..ie on the beach.But when we came back for breakfast those who were awake and in bed have felt it definitively.We dint think much of it cos such things.. Tsunamis are not known for us.
We dint have any bookings that day but I thought of going on board to do some rust cleaning of the fighting chair.So at around 9:00 I went on board...leaving the capt. to sleep.Tied the dinghy behind and got on to my work.....and then I felt an uneasiness because the dingy started ramming on to the boat .I thought" what the hell..whats wrong with the current to day".Gave some more rope but still it came banging on .I noticed the boat too was turning round and round and even felt as if its torned off its moors.I went up front to check.Its holding ...alright.
The boat is anchored inside the lagoon on the west side of the island..and i saw The blue lagoon churning in patches of white.

Its a beautifull sunny day

Its a sunny beautiful day and all good things are happening.Kaanel leading Yousay..what?by over 2000 votes margin.not a hope and Addu.even shaviyani ..we have hope.

welcome to my world

This blog thing is the best that i have ever known for intellectual freedom.I have a collection of paintings ,poems stories articles and stuff that i want to publish and have come across barriers that i could not cross .
I was more interested in music and surfing untill a lot later when i thought of giving a try at painting.
